— Veterinary Technician Oath

Veterinary technicians are an integral part of any veterinary hospital.  At Gilbertsville Veterinary Hospital they work closely with our veterinarians to manage and care for the health of our patients.  When someone chooses a career as a veterinary technician they are selecting a career that is mentally and physically demanding.

Our technicians can be found restraining and lifting heavy or challenging patients on a daily basis. They remain calm and handle these stressful situations with ease. To become a veterinary technician they enroll in an accredited 2 or 4 year program.  At the end of the course work they will attend a six week externship at a veterinary hospital for hands on experience.  Finally they must pass a nationally recognized exam to earn their credentials.

Becoming a veterinary technician is not easy and having a passion for people and pets is a must.  We are very proud of all of the veterinary technicians that work at Gilbertsville Veterinary Hospital.

Our team of technicians play a vital role in maintaining the well-being of your pet(s).  They strive to provide the highest level of care as well as support our pet parents with the latest knowledge to maintain a healthy lifestyle at home.  Our technicians are dedicated to their career attending local and regional educational conferences to ensure that they maintain the most up-to-date knowledge.  We are grateful for all their hard work and could not do what we do without them.
